Be Still and Know.
I think, therefore I am alive and grateful.
Meditation helped me understand that no matter how much thinking I did beforehand, or after the fact, it did not matter in the moment.
Sit still, breathe deep into your diaphragm (try breathing with your bellybutton), and think about YOUR life - your choices, your fears, your decisions, your dreams, your passions, your mistakes, your regrets - think until you can’t think anymore.
With determination, and a deep desire for change, I promise you will experience a taste of what it felt like to be a kid again - BEFORE your mind was burdened by the pains and anxieties we’ve experienced growing up - BEFORE we had it ingrained in our minds that we had to be “successful” and make money.
The goal here is to practice clearing your mind, it is so busy with your own thoughts and fears that it can’t hear your body telling you to slow down, and breathe. Once your mind is quiet, you can start to listen to your body and heal (yoga).
Before I discovered meditation, yoga, and the importance of connecting with nature and other people, I wanted to die. I was tired of living my life, even when there was plenty to be grateful for - I was desperate for something to free me from this hellish existence that I was being told to enjoy.
Be still of the mind, and body, but let your soul be the voice that guides you.
Everything happens for a reason. (Why are you reading this?)
